The Castres – Paris line gains in popularity

Castres-Mazamet Airport

Created in 1990, Castres-Mazamet airport is located in the department of Tarn. It serves the cities of Castres and Mazamet, respectively 9 and 15 km from the airport.

Today, this airport carries out flights to: Paris – Orly, Ajaccio – Napoleon Bonaparte and Bastia – Poretta. The latter two destinations are only operated in Summer season.

In June 2019, Air France decided to entrust Amelia International (formerly Aero4M) with the responsibility of managing air operations for these routes from Castres – Mazamet Airport. From now on, Amelia proudly serves the territory of Tarn for Air France.

After 4 months of operation, Amelia International has a reliability of 98.86% and a punctuality of 99.7%. Amelia is doing everything in its power to ensure that passengers can count on this line and have full confidence in the aircraft for their travels.

Services adapted to meet passengers’ expectations

Amelia International operates an Embraer 145 twin-engine aircraft on this route. With a capacity of 50 seats, this robust and reliable jet allows a quick trip to Paris. Finally, it offers unparalleled cabin comfort with excellent acoustic quality.

This jet is part of a family of 8 similar aircraft that form the heart of Amelia’s fleet. ATRs complete its range of regional aircraft.

A good performance since beginning of operations

Amelia International is proud to have contributed to the 17.5% increase in passenger numbers since June, when it began operating on this route.

An article in the regional newspaper La Dépêche published on October 16th 2019 states that the record number of passengers on the Paris-Castres airline has been reached in July and that these figures are still on the rise. Subsequently, it was estimated that “the 50,000 passenger mark should be crossed this year, compared to 48,000 passengers last year”.

These results are the consequence of a collective effort that Amelia welcomes. The airline intends to continue in this direction in order to further benefit the region and its inhabitants.
